Lion Steel Industries (Pvt) Ltd., was incorporated in July 1992 as a private limited company. Prior to its incorporation, the company was operating as a Partnership Firm since 1962. At the start, the manufacturing activities were confined to Steel Ingots from Electric Arc Furnace and angles, channels, sections, bars etc from Rolling Mill.
In 1983, the Firm went into expansion with WAPDA Contracts behind its back and took its present shape. A complete modern rolling mill alongwith computerized galvanizing plant, and fabrication shops with heavy machinery were setup to cater country's demand of galvanized steel towers of all capacities. Since 1984, the Company/Firm has accepted and executed contracts to the tune of over Rs.1.000 Billion.
In 1994 the Company went into further expansion and plans were made to diversify the manufacturing capability to Aluminium Hardware and Copper products. For this purpose, an Aluminium and Copper Extrusion plant was acquired alongwith High Pressure Die Casting Machines.
In 2003, the Company crossed another milestone and added the facility for manufacturing 11KV Dropout Cutouts which were successfully tested and passed at High Voltage and Short Circuit Laboratory, Wapda, Rawat, Islamabad.
Presently, the company has facilities to cover manufacturing of all types of galvanized steel structures, poles, transmission line hardware, telecommunication towers, full range of nuts and bolts and dropout cutouts. Besides, the above said production for WAPDA exclusively, market demand for alluminium hardware is also considered to be a source of constant cash generation.
Modernization has been the constant endeavor of the Company and it has been on the look-out of new technology, diversification and increasing its current production capacities.
